I<\/span>t is our pleasure to congratulate Prof. Francisco Jos\u00e9 Garc\u00eda-Vidal<\/strong> for winning the Miguel Catalan Prize<\/a> of the Community of Madrid in 2024. FJ, as he is known at IFIMAC, is a pioneering physicist, known for his groundbreaking work in classical and quantum nanophotonics, plasmonics, and metamaterials. For his research achievements, FJ has obtained other prestigious awards, such as the Jaume I Prize for Basic Research and the Spanish National Research Prize Blas Cabrera, in recent years. FJ was the founding director (2012-2021) of our institute, and his role was pivotal in the winning of the Mar\u00eda de Ma\u00e9ztu Excellence Distinctions that IFIMAC obtained in 2014 and 2018.
